RC Driller

The Quest Exploration Drilling (QED) group is a dynamic exploration drilling contractor with a diversified portfolio of projects across the Asia Pacific rim predominantly in the Philippines and papua New Guinea.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for the total efficient operation and safety of his rig and crew at all times.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  •  Must have the skills to keep the hole open and stable long enough for it to be completed.
  •  Must apply the most suitable drilling method and use of circulating fluid to ensure the hole will remain open and suitable.
  • Shall monitor instruments such as pressure gauges, feed or weight indicators to keep track of what is happening down the hole.
  • Shall operate the drill rig, adjusting speed and feed to meet various in situ conditions.
  • Must know what the purpose of drilling for is, and must advice his crew what the job involves.
  • He shall observe the volume, color and consistency of the returns from the hole.
  • Should all the time feel and listen for sounds of vibration or rough drilling.
  • Should conduct a daily shift tool box meeting to the crew before commencing work and topics of the meeting must be logged in the tool box meeting form.
  • A daily pre-start check must be conducted on the drilling rig and its auxiliary equipment before starting a shift using the prescribed pre-start check form.
  • Performs any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements:
  • Of legal age;
  • Candidate must possess Bachelor's/College Degree , Engineering (Chemical), Engineering (Mining/Mineral), Geology/Geophysics or equivalent or at least a vocational Diploma related to mechanical works;
  • At least 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Ability to speak fluent english, proficient in written communication and in preparation and writing of reports;
  • Experience with high pressure boosters and Aux compressors;
  • With current Heavy Rigid Truck Driver's License;
  • Senior First aider (Nationally and or Red Cross accredited);
  • Be able to demonstrate leadership and ability to lead by example;
  • With understanding about OHSE and Quality Management System;
  • Can demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills;
  • Driven in assisting people to reach full potential;
  • Focus on critical success factors on time, quality and value;
  • Must be willing to be assigned in any of the projects
