Senior Mine Engineer / Ventilation Officer

This organisation is a well respected and funded Australian coal producer with continued plans to build on recent growth and investment in the NSW coal industry.  A challenging leadership role has become vacant as a result of an internal promotion to manage and mentor a small team of mine engineers and to directly assume responsibility for the mine ventilation system. The position remunerates very well on a Monday to Friday roster in an excellent residential location boasting a range of amenities and recreational activities.
 
This is a pivotal role that will have a broad management exposure supporting the Technical Service Manager. The direct reports will have duties across mine planning and production and the appointed candidate will have Ventilation Officer duties on site specifically managing the mine ventilation system, strata control system, mining approvals and exemptions and projects relating to the technical aspects of the system. This is a key appointment into the technical services team delivering safe, productive and achievable mine plans for the operation.
 
The key requirements for this role are a Ventilation Officers certificate of competency and a degree or diploma in Mine Engineering. Experience in a similar role with ventilation being the main requirements will be very highly regarded. This position would suit a candidate with progression ambitions to Technical Services manager or a suitably qualified and experienced Mine Engineer seeking a step-up into a Senior Mine Engineering role. Experience in underground mining is essential with coal experience highly desirable.
