Planner/Scheduler

JV Driver is a large industrial construction company, offering a full range of services for the oil and gas, forestry, petrochemicals, energy and mining industries. JV Driver is currently looking for twenty four Planner/Scheduler's for various projects in Alberta. The purpose of this position is to be in control of planning and running the schedule for the construction site. The individual in this role will report to the Project Manager directly, and be responsible for keeping the company on track in order to complete project on time.

Primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Develop and maintain work schedules for the construction project;
  • Enforce and maintain all requirements to achieve the critical path of the schedule;
  • Keep track of resource loading to achieve proper manpower at each stage of the project;
  • Uses project planning tools to prepare detailed engineering and construction plan or priorities schedules for the project;
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress and historical reports;
  • Develop and maintain manpower, progress, and quantity curves;
  • Assist in schedule variance reporting analysis;
  • Manage Schedule Change Notices;
  • Analysis of Progress and Performance Reports;
  • Works closely with project management to improve performance in project planning and execution.

The requirements and qualifications of this role include:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience;
  • Degree in Engineering is preferred;
  • Experience using the Primavera Project Planner P3 or P5;
  • Ability to set and manage priorities to meet all deadlines;
  • Strong coordination skills and organization skills ;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • High attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Strong problem solving
