Maintenance Electrician

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Electrician, Night Shift to work permanently in Delta, BC.

Scope of Work:

Assist with operation of high pressure boilers and ammonia system

Provide service, repair, and maintenance of production machinery at the facility on Annacis Island

Although it may vary at times, the primary shift for this position runs from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm (night shift) Sunday through Thursday

Main Duties:

• Perform repairs and provide preventive maintenance
• Provide technical support and decision making during key breakdown situations
• Orders parts and materials related to maintenance
• Operate lath and milling machine to repair and fabricate parts
• Install and commission new machinery
• Provide training for junior mechanics
• Maintain boilers by performing daily check-ups and conduct water analysis
• Work closely with production supervisors to schedule machine downtime for repairs

Qualifications:

• Hands on knowledge of packing machines
• Good understanding of vacuum pumps
• Excellent knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Working knowledge of PLC and computerized machinery
• Proven ability to work independently and plan priorities
• Ability to work in a team based environment and also work independently in a proactive manner
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to provide quality customer service
• Minimum 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate is mandatory for this position, combined with four (4) years experience in a processing plant
• Although not mandatory, preference will be given to individuals with an additional trade qualification
