Process Engineer

Process Engineer Job Description:

• Provides process ownership and process leadership utilizing sound engineering principles to support process operations and to drive continuous improvement with respect to process efficiency, process reliability, process safety and environmental performance.
• Demonstrate full process ownership of assigned processes and lead all aspects of process technical performance and improvement efforts.
• Proactively support the Manufacturing Managers.
• Successfully collaborate with all stakeholders including operators, mechanics, engineering, Q/A, R&D and management to generate productive and valuable results.
• Demonstrate sound technical acumen and engineering principles including process analysis, root cause investigations, experimental design and project management.
• Develop measure and report process performance metrics and process improvement plans to generate meaningful process improvement.
• Responsible for daily process performance, process safety information and hazard analysis, process recipe management, process operating procedures, schedule adherence as related to process performance, process related management of change, quality investigation, etc.
• Routinely demonstrate safety leadership in all aspects of your job including participation in safety audits/inspections, SAFESTART program observations and safety training.

Qualifications:

• Formal Education Required: Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Formal Education Preferred: Additional degree in organic chemistry or advanced degree in Engineering.
• Level & Type of Knowledge and Experience Required: Five years’ experience in chemical process engineering. Have strong distillation expertise.
• Level & Type of Knowledge/Experience Preferred: Experience in process control and DCS applications, pyrolysis, crystallization, reaction kinetics, mixing, process safety management, experience in batch and continuous operations. Experience in specialty organic chemical manufacturing. Batch process experience a plus.
