Project Geologist
Description
- AMEC’s Greenville, South Carolina office is seeking a Project Geologist for large environmental assessment and remediation projects. The successful candidate will complement our existing environmental team and will assist the Project Manager in developing and executing investigation strategies and activities at AMEC client sites in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. The candidate needs to be proficient in developing environmental investigation work plans, experienced in field investigation methods, and preparation of technical reports. Strong analytical, communication, and writing skills are required. This project offers a wide range of technical, regulatory and business challenges requiring the candidate to be well rounded and results oriented.
Requirements:
- BS degree in Geology [advanced degree(s) preferred], will consider Engineering, Scientific Discipline, or related technical field.
- 3 to 5 years of related experience in consulting engineering firm and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
- Experience with large environmental assessment and remediation projects.
- PG in South Carolina required with ability to obtain PG registration in other states as necessary.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated professional judgment, consistency, and attention to detail, track record of quality work products
- Strong personal safety culture.
- 40 Hour HAZWOPER training and current 8-Hour refresher.
- Current first aid and CPR training a plus.
- Experience with AutoCAD a plus.
- Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.
- Must be able to lift sampling equipment, sample coolers, and other field equipment weighing up to 30 pounds from ground to pickup truck bed.
- Must be able to carry sampling equipment, sample coolers, and other field equipment to sampling locations, which may include travel over difficult terrain.
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (heat and cold) during field investigation and sampling activities.
