Technical Director- Human Factors
- ERM is seeking an experienced Technical Director- Human Factors to join the North America Risk Practice in Houston, TX. As a senior leader, your primary responsibilities will be to provide technical leadership to a team of consultants, deliver high-profile projects, generate new business, and develop excellent client relationships. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level professional looking to advance their career to the next level with a global environmental leader, while networking with ERM's global Risk practice team to share best practices across the industry.
- At ERM , we work with many of the world’s leading companies on the design, development, and implementation of Environmental, Safety and Risk management programs. Our work in this field across our global footprint is diverse and includes development of technical standards, design of compliance management systems, organizational design, and operating as strategic advisors. We are excited by the very real opportunity to add to this portfolio with an enhanced Human Factors service. As such ERM will build the world’s largest human factors team fully integrated with our global risk practice.
- Depending on level, successful candidates will be involved in
- Helping to develop the strategy and internal engagement for the Human Factors team.
- Support to business development and tendering activities as directed.
- The delivery of human factors technical services to clients
- Some supervision and mentoring of Consultancy staff.
Requirements:
- Strong undergraduate degree in a recognized human factors subject such as ergonomics or applied psychology
- Minimum of 15 years working experience in a broad range of positions in the oil and gas industry.
- In-house within industry or those consulting or advising more widely with clients.
- Industry sector understanding that aligns with ERM’s strategic objectives- oil and gas, mining, and power.
- Knowledge and skills in the application of human factors to the design of complex systems
- Capability to perform human factors analyses of tasks, human error, workload, training needs and competency, and ideally organizational studies of leadership, communications, culture, etc.
- Willing and able to work from one of our core regions based in the UK, Houston in the US or Perth in Australia.
