Survey Assistant

Part of a diversified global group, the team at Consolidated Minerals are currently focusing on the expansion of our Pilbara Manganese and Chromite mining operations through exploration and development of our large regional land holding.
 
With a world renowned high grade deposit of Manganese which is essential to steel production, and an enviable track record of being one of the world's leading suppliers, we are well placed in the market and look forward to continued growth.
 
We currently have an opportunity for a Survey Assistant to join our Coobina operations on an 8/6 roster and play an important role in our Surveying team. Reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor, the successful applicant will be required to: 
  • Perform all work activities with the highest regards to industry safety standards.
  • Be self motivated, proactive, express a positive attitude and have a keen interest in pursuing a career in open cut mining.
  • Work independently as well as part of the Survey and Mining teams.
  • Be physically fit and able to perform manual handling duties safely.
  • Deliver timely and accurate survey information using GPS equipment.
  • Effectively utilise Surpac and be able to process pick-ups and mark-ups for accurate reporting / surveying of all operational activities.
For applicants to be successful in this role, they must possess: 
  • Previous experience in a Survey Technican or Assistant role
  • Familiarity with Surpac, as well as Trimble equipment
  • A current Australian C class (manual) driver’s licence
  • Motivation to learn and contribute to the Survey Group’s success.
  • A team focused attitude with a strong work ethic and good communication skills.
