Expeditor

Our Client is looking for an experienced Expeditor with a mining background to join their successful team for a short term assignment. You have at least 5 years experience in the mining sector and a background from previously working for the Client on large mining projects. As the company’s Expeditor you will make introduction to suppliers, scope the material requirements and ensure equipment and materials are delivered within required logistical guidelines. You will also have the ability to write and review technical reports and make initial contact with suppliers.

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Monitoring vendor activities against client scope and key milestones
  • Ensure schedule adherence and help coordinate variations via project controls and engineering teams
  • Create and maintain excellent relationships with vendors to ensure production of a quality result
  • Inspect and ensure all goods meet the requirements of the client
  • Participate in post order supplier meetings including GPA/Supply Contract kick off and progress review meetings where required
  • Proactively expedite the progress of Supplier critical milestone activities by following the guidelines as set out in the Check List

To be considered for the role, you will have the following background:

  • At least 5 years experience as an Expeditor within a large mining project environment
  • Be proactive in addressing variations and schedule adherence
  • Ability to write and review technical reports
  • Experience with Mat Man
  • Ability to review and understand a Primavera and or Microsoft Project bar chart
  • A proven track record of delivering materials on time and to budget
  • Understanding customs/import regulations and laws
