Construction Supervisor

Global hydrocarbon storage and logistic specialist requires construction professionals for their NSW Port Terminal Operations. This is truly rare opportunity, which will require you to lead from the front with your knowledge of petroleum storage and construction of import terminals. Our client is an international independent tank terminal operator that specializes in the bulk storage of hydrocarbons, chemicals, oils and LNG. Offering a complete suite of storage and transshipment options our client provides a crucial link in the supply chain. Operating for over a century our client has built a reputation that continues redefine the benchmark in terms of professionalism and commitment to quality of service. 

Using this international presence as leverage our client has secured the funding for a major development in the Port of Botany. The primary scope of work includes the construction of a Bitumen Import Terminal and associated infrastructure to support their Australasian operations. 
Due to this increase in operational capacity the need for construction professionals with sound knowledge of the petroleum storage has become an urgent requirement.  Your mandate will be to provide a link between various contracting entities and the client for the development of noted structures.   

Reporting to a successful project manager the ideal candidate will have experience in bulk storage tanks, hot oil systems, pipelines and tank loader systems.  This position will resonate with analytically minded professionals who can mitigate complex construction issues and lead by example. 

With leading management systems and a clear reporting structure this role will suit focused and ambitious construction professionals with the drive and energy to undertake the following accountabilities;    
  • Field supervision, planning, quality monitoring, and coordination  
  • Ability to liaise with associated stakeholders regarding progress of project
  • Ensure construction is preformed to design
  • Ability to adapt to the various internal procedures of the contracting party
  • Managing the site teams in accordance with the company’s strategic plans and objectives.
  • Ensuring safety, environmental, community and industrial relations, and quality plans and procedures are adhered to across the site.
  • Managing the quality of output of the project site teams including alignment with company, c, regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Participate in assembling the draft commissioning plan and operating procedures

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role 
  • 5-10 years minimum experience large scale Australian projects
  • Knowledge of petroleum storage
  • Well-developed interpersonal/communication skills including report writing
  • Trades Background SMP
  • Relevant Qualifications 
You MUST also be able to show a proven track record working on Australian projects and be fully coherent with Australian standards.
