Development Engineer III Tubular Threaded Connections

Job Description

• U.S. Steel Corporation seeks Development Engineer III Tubular Threaded Connections for Houston, TX office. Responsible for: (i) collaborating with other design engineers, operations, staff and contracted services to establish the scope, schedule, detailed work plan, and firm project cost for developmental thread design projects; (ii) providing designs using SolidWorks and design analysis, including FEA using ABAQUS and execution of testing plans (iii) reviewing all engineering design specifications of threaded connections and variances from design specifications; (iv) analyzing and troubleshooting threading machine programming - CNC; (v) conducting review meetings with design and manufacturing engineers and operations to verify the accuracy and completion of scope items; (vi) ensuring that the engineering goals and objectives established for threaded connections remain consistent with the business case throughout the design and development process; and (vii) assisting in the development of legal documents to fully detail work, cost and contractual commitments.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering. 
• Must know (through coursework or experience): Finite Element Analysis, ABAQUS, CNC programming, and SolidWorks.
• Two years of experience in the position offered or as a Design/Development Engineer of premium threaded tubular connections.
