Junior Product Safety & Regulatory Compliance Consultant

  • [Company] is seeking a motivated Junior Product Safety & Regulatory Compliance Consultant to join our growing team in Cincinnati, OH.  In this role, you will work closely with Project Managers on product issues across a range of industries.
  • [Company] offers excellent career opportunities for individuals with experience in REACH, ROHS, GHS, US Federal and State product regulations, emerging market product regulations, industry product stewardship practices, and industry-applicable life cycle analysis as part of our Global Product Stewardship services team.  As part of the Performance & Assurance practices, our sustainability team provides technical expertise, strategy, hands-on implementation support and innovative solutions to clients across a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing (both durable and consumer products), petrochemicals, pharmaceutical/health-care, and metals, just to name a few.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance on chemical product risk and regulatory compliance projects, EHS compliance, and sustainability projects.
  • Perform client site visits and facility audits to conduct product portfolio analysis and evaluate compliance and related management systems.
  • Assist with preparation of Technical Registration Dossiers for regulatory submissions (e.g., TSCA PMNs, EU REACH Registrations, China, Korea etc.).
  • Screen and evaluate substance study reports (i.e., environmental fate and effect studies, mammalian toxicology studies) and preparation of robust study summaries.
  • Develop hazard assessments, GHS Classifications, Safety Data Sheets, product and transportation labeling, etc.).
  • Track emerging chemical and product-related legislation.
  • Perform multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
  • Support [Company] Partners-in-Charge and Project Managers to effectively manage projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors in chemistry, toxicology, ecotoxicology, risk assessment, regulatory affairs, hazard communications, or other relevant disciplines required; Masters preferred.  
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Recent graduate to 5 years of relevant product experience in industry, consulting, or both.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Interest and willingness to travel for both domestic and international travel assignments.
  • Proactive, polished, independent, technically competent, assertive, well-spoken, and proven ability to successfully perform in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent delivery, collaboration, and problem resolution skills.
  • Strong technical experience and excellent client relations skills.
