UG Mine Geologist - Gold, FIFO 8/6

We are currently looking for an Underground Mine Geologist to join a mid-tier gold producer in Western Australia. This company has a main producing underground asset, as well a project in development and various greenfields projects.

The Geology team is headed by a well known geologist who only hires the best talent. So this is a great chance to learn within a great team environment and work with a geologically complex gold deposit.

Reporting to the Mine Geology Manager, you will be responsible for activities such as:

• Management of underground mine ore control activities and minimizing of dilution
• Geologic interpretation
• Overseeing geotechnical data collection
• Sorting of ore types and tracking ore stockpile quantities and quality
• Assisting in resource modelling and resource estimates
• Assisting in short-term and long-term mine planning
• Assisting in ground control design for UG mine development and production stopes
• Supervising junior geologists
• Preparation of daily and monthly production reports
• Ad hoc project responsibilities as directed by Mine Geology Manager

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Geology
• Minimum 3 years experience in underground hard rock mining
• Knowledge of geological software package - Surpac or Vulcan
• Experience in supervising non technical personnel
• Understanding of geotechnical mapping and ground control techniques is desirable
• Good communication skills is a MUST
