Senior/Chief Underground Mine Surveyor

Our Client, with a strong history of developing and managing underground nickel projects, has an operation in the WA Goldfields which has produced over 100,000 tonnes of nickel over 15 years of underground mining.  

They currently have an opportunity for a Senior/Chief Mine Surveyor to join their busy operation and manage the Survey team. The role is being offered on an 8/6 roster, FIFO from Perth and comes with a very competitive salary. Successful applicants will be proficient using Surpac, LEICA 1100 and LEICA 1200.  

To be considered for this role you will ideally have: 

• Qualifications in Surveying as a Mine Surveyor - Western Australia - Grade 1 Authorisation as a Mine Surveyor (minimum);
• At least 5 years Underground Mining experience;
• Provide technical leadership to the team;
• High level experience in producing and assessing underground mine surveying plans;
• Working knowledge of Leica TS12 Total Station Optec CMS, TOP CON GPS equipment;
• High level of competency in Surpac software data processing or similar software packages;
• Demonstrate a proactive and team orientated approach;
• Strong organisational and management skills;
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
• Ensuring all surveying activities are carried out safely, in accordance with company standards and legislative requirements; and
• Work closely with the Geology and Engineering teams.
