Journeyperson or Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technicians

SMS Equipment Inc. supplies equipment parts and service to the construction, forestry and mining industries and utility product users. It was created to provide customers with integrated solutions and to expand our service capabilities as a nationwide organization.

Reporting to the Service Manager, our Heavy Equipment Technicians and Apprentices maintain, repair and rebuild heavy equipment at the shop or at customers' jobsite locations in a safe, efficient and capable manner in Regina.

The successful applicant will be required to:

• Make recommendations regarding the extent of repairs and suggest methods of improvement.
• Repair the equipment in a timely and financially responsible manner.
• Think logically and keep up with changes in technology.
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
• Have a strong awareness and attitude towards workplace health and safety.
• Be motivated and able to work in a challenging environment with minimal supervision.

Qualification

• Working towards a Journeyperson (Off Road) Heavy Equipment Technician certification
• Have a strong awareness and attitude towards workplace health and safety
• Effective interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy with a variety of individuals and groups
