Randstad are partnering with a leading mining operator in the mining & resources sector to appoint a highly skilled Long Term Planning Senior Mining Engineer for their Brisbane Head Office.
Your responsibilities are to develop and maintain the Life of Mine Plans for operations and supporting the operation's strategic direction. You will assist the leaders of the resource development team in supporting initiatives aimed at achieving operational excellence in the mine operations, coal processing and asset management areas.
In this role you will:
Design long term strip-bench-block layouts with associated major ramp access for open cut operations
Develop and maintain an up to date reserves database
Run and optimise LOM schedules and document results
Design practical final landforms ensuring provision for major access ramps, final voids, coarse/fine reject emplacements and water management structures
Design dump plans for representative year of the LOM and utilise these to calculate truck productiveness and associated fleet numbers required to meet plan production requirements
To be considered for this role, you will have tertiary qualifications in mining or civil engineering or a related discipline. Exposure to the Coal Mining industry or operational experience in surface mining operations will be highly regarded, along with a working knowledge of a mining software package.
