Associate Director / Senior Quantity Surveyor

Their core services are cost, program and project management, complemented by a wide range of specialist consultancy capabilities.
Role / Position / Person:
We have been engaged to search and select an exceptional individual with a proven track record in spear heading a specialist cost center in either of the following sectors.
- Rail
- Oil & Gas
- Resources / Mining / Metals
- Water
- Road / Highway Infrastructure
- Heavy Engineering
Coming from a solid cost consulting / PQS background, you will be required to have at least a degree in either Quantity Surveying, Construction & Property Economics, or a related subject. It is essential that you will have a minimum of 5 years employment in Australia with combined professional experience of at least 15 years, post degree.
To enable you to run a professional and effective business unit, you will need to demonstrate an exceptional knowledge of your specialist sector and have a solid grasp on world economies / issues that may affect growth / decline & future potential of your industry.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate an ability to develop, maintain and service a solid client base,. has a high level exposure to new business development and the conversion and execution of contracts as well as someone who can provide details of an impressive invoicing history.
The right candidate for this role will be someone who has the demonstrated ability to drive, run and create a new portfolio / revenue stream within an existing, well established company. You will be expected to have proven track record in Infrastructure related projects in Australia and have contacts and connections in the sector of your expertise.

You will be expected to have exceptional skills in the following:
- Leading teams both operationally and project based
- Management of budgets
- Rounded Quantity Surveying expertise
- Cost Planning, pre and post contract
- Risk analysis and management
- Feasibility studies
- Financial reporting
- Identify, analyze and develop responses to commercial risks
- Be able to provide expert advice on contractual claims
- Oversee any junior QS’s / consultants within the team
This is a senior role and requires someone who has local and key industry contacts and has a thorough understanding of the Australian construction industry
Another prerequisite is that you must be from one of the disciplines mentioned above. Commercial / Residential skilled professionals will not be considered at this stage.
