Our approximately 900 staff members work in 25 offices across the United States and abroad. [Company] has over 600 consultants, including more than 350 that have earned a doctorate in their chosen field of specialization.
- [Company] Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Practice includes a team of electrical engineers and computer scientists performing a wide array of investigations ranging from electric power systems to semiconductor devices. [Company] electrical engineers and computer scientists have experience in the areas of accident investigations, component and printed circuit board failure analysis, semiconductor device failure investigations, electrical and computer equipment failures, electric equipment fire investigations, electric motors and generators, power electronic systems for industrial and electric utility applications, power supplies and batteries, studies of electrical and electronic systems in automotive vehicles, among many others. We also perform "due diligence" investigations for investment decisions, manufacturing plant and technology audits, engineering design process reviews, control system studies, and design reviews of electrical and electronic equipment including imbedded software analysis. We operate laboratories for testing moderately heavy electrical equipment, appliances, and light electronic equipment. Our laboratory in Phoenix performs specialized tests and is licensed to conduct tests for CTIA (Cellular Telephone Industry Association).
- The Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Practice is currently seeking a Senior Engineer/Managing Engineer in our Menlo Park, CA office. Career growth will involve increasing project management duties, responsibility for creating project opportunities, and client relations.
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Performing electrical engineering analyses consulting related to ongoing [Company] t work
- Attracting and developing clients, managing a team of engineers, and providing consulting services within our work in reliability and failure analysis related to electrical/electronic systems and components, especially power systems which often requires designing and supervising laboratory testing
- Investigating and evaluating electrocution/electric shock hazards regarding electrical devices, equipment and installations
- Developing [Company] power engineering consulting efforts which includes consulting services to the legal community (litigation support consulting) and to industry (failure analysis)
- Preparing technical proposals and pursuing business developments
Qualifications for this position include:
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field with at least 5 years of related experience
- Technical background in power electronics and power system design, manufacturing, or reliability
- Preferred specific expertise includes switching mode power supply circuit design and manufacturing, battery charging systems, battery technology, or related field
- Experience in battery failure analysis, manufacturing, or reliability is a plus
- Excellent and creative problem solving ability
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to gather information and convey technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, business, and related industry
- Ability to support multiple group projects and market the Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Practice and its consulting services
- Ability to work independently as well as lead and work in multidisciplinary teams
- Strong desire to work in a fast-paced consulting environment
