Shift Manager Utilities Maintenance Electrical

Job Description

• United States Steel Corporation has an immediate opening for a Shift Manager Utilities Maintenance at the Great Lakes Works facility in Ecorse, MI.
• This position will supervise and direct the unionized maintenance forces of the Utilities Department as they support maintenance, inspection and repair activities.
• Lead and ensure safety and environmental activities and compliance of electrical technicians, in support of equipment repairs including motor and wiring repair. Assist and support production units in reaching quality, delay and yield goals/targets.

Requirements

• Associates degree in Electrical Engineering or Journeyman Electrician or equivalent required. Master Electrician, preferred.
• 3-4 years of heavy industrial maintenance and maintenance supervisory experience.
• Experience directing and supervising a unionized workforce.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts, extended workdays and weekends.

Desired qualifications for the role:

• Electrical construction layout and installation.
• Power distribution knowledge - 250dc, 480volts, 6900volts
• Troubleshooting of electrical overhead cranes, 250volts.
• Time based maintenance programs
• AC/DC motor knowledge
• Familiar with PC's - Microsoft Office, Windows, Excel
• Strong leadership, planning and communications skills coupled with a sense of urgency.
• Good keyboard and computer skills a plus.
