Department

  • Based in Fairfield, California, the Northern California District conducts its operations primarily through[Company], a subsidiary of[Company]. Our projects include grading, highways, bridges, dams, treatment plants and foundations.

Project

  • As part of the project management team, the position requires the skills to manage a fast-paced construction office. Duties include transactional accounting (payroll, payables, receivables), job cost management and reporting, purchasing, human resources including employment law and labor compliance, environmental compliance, subcontract administration, tax issues and business law as it relates to our operations (prompt payment, liens, etc.).

Tasks

  • Must be able to meet deadlines and contribute to a positive, safe, high-quality culture. The construction industry is a fast-paced environment that requires decision-making and problem-solving skills. Critical components of the job are: extensive involvement in the operation of the cost control system and detailed analysis of construction costs.

Requirements

  • Pursuing undergraduate degree in accounting, business, economics, finance or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Must possess knowledge of basic accounting functions.
  • Must possess knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • Must possess strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Works independently as well as part of a team.
  • Must be a self-starter, willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
  • Must be able to freely access all parts of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
