Applications Developer

Position Responsibilities:

• The Applications Developer will develop desktop, web and/or mobile applications in a team environment using a variety of application development technologies.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, analyze, develop and implement a solid architecture for functional and user-friendly applications from requirements
• Provide consultation to management and end users to determine system functional specifications and project timelines

Position Requirements:

• As an ideal candidate, you have 3 - 5+ years of professional web development experience, including an advanced understanding of HTML, CSS, JQuery, ASP.NET, C#.NET and JavaScript. You are able to comfortably work within the entire stack: databases, services, UX and data servers. You also possess the ability to communicate effectively in a virtual environment and work collaboratively on small, cross functional teams. In addition, you are creative and passionate about designing, developing and implementing new technologies, you are able to work coding details without losing sight of the big picture, and enjoy working with big data to solve complex business problems. 

• B.S. in Computer Science, Geography, GIS, MIS or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• Strong familiarity with principles and concepts of relational databases
• An understanding of programming principles and best practices
• Prior experience using Microsoft Visual Studio IDE
• Familiarity with version control (TFS, SVN) and transact-SQL programming
• Experience with SQL Server Business Intelligence (especially Integration Services, IIS administration IIS (6.0 and above), mobile application development, ArcGIS Server APIs, and MVC3 a plus.
