OVERVIEW
Victoria Gold Corporation is developing the Eagle Gold
Project; an open pit gold mine located 85 km by road from the town of Mayo,
central Yukon Territory, Canada. The mine will deliver ore to a 29,500 metric
tons per day heap leach processing facility that includes three stage crushing
and agglomeration. Construction is scheduled to commence in 2013 with
commissioning in 2015. These dates are contingent on achieving regulatory
approvals, expected to be in hand to allow construction in April/May 2013.
Additionally the Company will improve some 43 km of access
road to the site and construct a 44 km, 69 kV power line from a new tap point
on the existing Yukon Energy transmission line between Mayo / Keno and the mine
site. Mine life is approximately 10 years with additional years anticipated for
mine reclamation.
This will be the first operating mine for Victoria which, to
date, has been exclusively an exploration company. Victoria has several other
active exploration projects in the Yukon. It’s anticipated other mine projects
will follow the Eagle development.
