Principal Coal Mining Engineer

Randstad is partnering with a major global consultancy group in the Mining & Resources sector to appoint highly skilled Principal Coal Mining Engineers.
  
The role entails team building and mentoring plus lead and handle project management for engineering studies at the scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility level. This also incorporates due diligence reviews supporting mergers, acquisitions and coal supply contracts.
  
Other responsibilities will involve coal mine design, including dragline, truck and shovel applications, plus scheduling, optimisation, equipment selection and operating and capital cost estimates. 
  
This position requires candidates to posses time management, budgeting and quality control for consulting assignments.
  
You will have to compile reports for feasibility studies, technical reviews, due diligence studies and will have to liaise with mining engineers, resource geologists, and specialists from other disciplines or offices within the organisation.


Travelling both domestically and internationally may be required to support project work or for training and where necessary to provide assistance with business development, including liaison with current or potential clients.
 
The successful candidate will have:


Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering with no less than 8 years relevant coal mining engineering experience in either Underground or Open Cut mines.
Excellent report writing and communication skills
A professional approach to safety
Other desirable (but non-essential) attributes include:
CP Status for coal is a benefit
Previous consulting experience
