GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER - UNDERGROUND
Having a good mentor in the current market is your ticket to success. Engineers who are mentored well progress quicker up the ranks than others.
Due to tightness in the market though, we are seeing fewer strong mentors at the Senior level.
Not here though. You have the opportunity to work closely with 2 well known Senior Geotechnical Engineers.
Senior Geotechnical Engineer - site based
Experience in Australia and Internationally across both developing and established sites, he can offer you a diverse background to tap in to. Working closely with the corporate office, you will see his work on design, modelling, and projects (including new shaft declines and backfill systems) for this underground operation - of which he has become a valuable asset to.
Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Corporate
Before moving to this International mine, he worked on small-scale operations lacking challenges. Since moving though, he has been exposed to a variety of roles, working aross multiple sites - he now has a strong theoretical and practical background with strengths in modelling and design.
What stands out about him is that he has moved quickly up the ranks - moving from site based to corporate roles, as well as becoming a Senior. The Principal described him as the Underground Geotechnical guru in this company and you will have the opportunity to learn directly from him.
FIFO any Australian city
To be considered for a role under these Seniors, you will need a relevant Bachelor degree and at least 3 years in underground mining environments.
