The Opportunity

Our Vancouver based client has a technical leadership opportunity for a Senior Lead Process Engineer wanting to make an impact in a growing technology company. The Senior Lead Process Engineer will become the key process expert, providing leadership in design, and developing the skills of process engineers. The position also offers a great opportunity to be involved in developing new environmental technologies and applying existing technologies in new areas of wastewater treatment.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

• Develop an expert level of understanding of each of client’s existing water treatment processes, and play a key role in developing new technologies
• Lead and approve all process designs and the preparation of process design documentation
• Manage process engineering systems
• Train and mentor staff
• Build effective relationships that result in staff viewing you as the “go-to” person for their questions about client’s processes
• Be a key technical resource for client’s operations, projects, laboratory and business development teams
• Write, review and edit technical documentation including lab reports, technical papers, design reports and proposals
• Be based in Vancouver with occasional travel to project sites

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors or graduate degree in engineering in hydrometallurgy, mineral processing, or chemical
• Minimum 10 years experience in detailed process plant design in the mining and/or mineral processing industries
• Minimum 2 years as a process lead responsible for the sign-off of design work
• Proven ability to effectively lead and develop technical teams and ability to effectively transfer knowledge to colleagues or staff
• Excellent analytical, facilitation and communication skills
• Can-do attitude – always finds a way to make things work
• Experience in commissioning and/or plant operations is a strong asset

Compensation and Benefits

• $115,000 to $150,000 per annum
• A comprehensive benefits package will be offered
