General Manager Geology

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage, lead and mentor a team of Geology professionals including Exploration, Mine Geology and Resource Development.
• Ensuring that key geology systems are established and reviewed regularly
• Taking the lead to Ensure that HSE system are used to create a safe and sustainable work culture
• Take a key role in growth activities: Develop and maintain on an annual rolling basis, the Strategic Exploration plan
• Oversee JORC sign off on resource statements
• Implement succession planning within Geology
• Develop strategic geological teams providing specialist geological knowledge to the group

Key Requirements:
The successful candidate will posses the following:

• 10-15 year experience in a geology related role in the mining industry 
• A Geology degree or equivalent
• A Engineering degree is high advantageous
• A MBA is highly advantageous
• A competent person (JORC) or equivalent
• A background in production, exploration or resource geology is highly desirable 
• Experience in Engineering is also regarded as highly advantageous
• Proven leadership skills

This role has board interaction and presentation so excellent communications skills are essential.

This role offers a high level of interaction with the Board. The role has the ability in the future to encapsulate Technical Services in the future and further broaden the successful candidates skill set.
