Melt Shop Supervisor

We are  currently recruiting for our client who is seeking a Melt Shop Supervisor. The ideal candidate will understand and have exposure to refining precious metals and melt shop or casting experience. This permanent position pays $60,000 annually and is located in Markham, Ontario.

Job description:

• Manage and organize approximately 5 6 staff in the refining department
• Schedule and assign work to meet customer requests and for a quick turnaround of precious metals and reimbursements
• Ensure a safe working environment
• Analyze equipment to ensure reliability and develop PPM programs
• Interact with customers and receiving department
• Oversee troubleshooting of equipment and assist in determining root causes
• Coordinate meetings with staff to uphold safety standards, best practices and department needs.

Job requirements:

• University degree in metallurgy, materials engineering or related field is preferred
• 5 years of refining, melt shop and or casting experience
• Knowledge with precious metals (Au, Ag, Pt, Pd, Rd) is preferred
• Proven experience with Health and Safety, knowledge of PPE, and ISO procedures
• Strong communication skills
• Leadership skills

Salary:

$60,000 annually
