About the role
This role would suit someone already sitting in a Senior Mine Engineer role looking for a change of scenery or perhaps you are a mining engineer ready to step up to senior.
You will work as part of the technical team which consists of Mine Planners, Geotechnical Engineers, Mine Surveyors and Geologists.
Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, you will draw upon your significant mining experience and deliver results in the area of mine planning and drill & blast design. Your role will play a key part in overseeing the timely production of mine designs and schedules and your leadership skills will see you guide the more junior engineers.
You will need
- Degree in Mine Engineering
- Experience in underground mining operations, preferably in gold mining
- Good drill & blast experience
- People management and leadership skills
- Effective problem solving skills
- Attention to detail – time management, record keeping etc
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
