Consolidated Minerals has a core production base in carbon and stainless steel raw materials through our manganese, nickel and chromite businesses in Western Australia – cementing our position as a niche supplier of high-quality, strategic minerals to world markets.

We have over 450 employees and contractors working at our manganese and chromite operations in the Pilbara region and our nickel operations in the Kambalda region of Western Australia. We have a strong commitment to growth through exploration with active exploration programs underway across all of our core commodity areas.

We are also developing new commodity opportunities in other growth areas with investments in copper, zinc and iron ore, and we are pursuing other diversification and expansion initiatives to help us realise our vision of becoming a premier global diversified resources company.

The current role on offer is for a Drill & Blast Driller at our Woodie Manganese Operations, situated 407kms south - east of Port Hedland in the Pilbara. The right applicant will be offered a competitive remuneration package, a 2:1 roster FIFO from Perth, and will enjoy staying in modern camp with excellent facilities.


Reporting to the Drill & Blast Supervisor, the successful applicant will be required:
  • Perform all work activities with the highest regards to industry safety standards.
  • Be self motivated, proactive, express a positive attitude and have a keen interest in pursuing a career in the Drill & Blast sector.
  • Be physically fit and able to perform manual handling duties safely.
  • Operate & Maintain L7 Atlas Copco Surface Drill Rig.
  • Ensure all housekeeping duties are undertaken by the drill & blast team.
  • Liaise with other Drill & Blast personnel to achieve production goals.
 
Requirements to be successful in this role are:
  • Have a considerable amount of experience as a driller in an open pit mining environment
  • Product knowledge of Atlas Copco L7 Drills
  • HR Drivers Licence - essential
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety
  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors for most of the day
  • Willingness to improve and add knowledge
  • Team player
  • Senior First Aid – highly desirable
