PLC Programmer/Controls Technician

Our client in Southwestern Ontario is currently seeking a PLC Programmer/Controls Technician, they are a leader in providing high quality process automation services to manufacturing customers in Southern Ontario and the Greater Toronto Area including food and beverage, alternative fuels, cement, and plastics.

Reporting to the Manager of Systems Integration, the ideal candidate will be an experienced systems integrator to join their team of systems professionals. In this role, the successful candidate will work closely with our customers to improve their processes and products. The successful candidate will enjoy the responsibility of independent work within a team approach to customer service supported by mentoring within a structured reporting environment

Required

• Proficient in Rockwell RSLogix and FactoryTalk View ME/SE programming
• Technical diploma from a community college
• Three or more years¡¦ experience as a systems integrator.
• Ability to effectively communicate with key customer personal to deliver cost effective solutions
• Ability to excel working against strict timelines.

Preferred

• Technologist from a community college or P. Eng
• Experience described above specifically in process automation in
• food and beverage, brewing
• alternative fuels
• cement
• municipal water
• plastics

Systems Project Management

• Meet with the customer to develop an understanding of the scope of the project and required deadlines
• Design, scope, and execute projects of various sizes and complexities
• Balance quality, cost, and deadline pressures
• Coordinate project work with other integrators

Working Environment

• Large enough to work on many interesting projects, but small enough so there is lots of responsibility for employees and the opportunity to creatively solve problems
• Position requires some travel to customer sites for customer meetings and commissioning (Travel costs are reimbursed, but employees must have reliable transportation)
• Part of a team that provides a full service approach to providing solutions to customers.
