The successful candidate will report to the Manager Mine Engineering.
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
Be in possession of a B. Sc / B. Eng (Mining)
Be in possession of a Pr. Eng certification
Be proficient in EPS or Microsoft Projects
Be proficient in Microsoft Office software
Be proficient in Mine Planning computer software (mine2-4D or similar)
Be proficient in performing economic evaluations and data analysis
Be fully conversant in English and any other official language
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
Extensive experience in a mine planning and project environment
Must possess initiative to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision
Willingness to work effectively in team-based environment
Ability to manage projects beginning with an economic evaluation and a scope of work
Ability to write reports and give verbal presentations
Capable of implementing initiatives and demonstrate leadership abilities
Understanding of different mining methods
Ability to design across a variety of ore bodies
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
Working across a number of key areas including mine planning, scheduling, engineering, surveying, ventilation and geotechnical design
Evaluating and management of a variety of projects through the development phase to project initiation and completion
Applying economic models to geologic block models
Working with technical staff to produce operating and capital costs
Producing production capacity estimations
Developing mine, stockpile, and production schedules and associated capital schedules
Performing cash flows on production schedules and associated operating plan
Performing scoping level through feasibility level operating plans
Running scenario simulations
