A well-known international minerals group involved in the exploration and development of rare earth element materials requires the above to join the senior management team, working closely with the General Manager in building and running the rare earth chloride production plants, ultimately assuming responsibility for the day-to-day running of the processing plant.

Job Specification
Managing and assuming responsibility for the day to day running of the concentrator plant, optimising the concentration process.
Participating in weekly management meetings.
Analysing the quality and dosing of reagents - sulphide flotation and fatty acid flotation, as well as performing recovery calculations.
Developing existing gravity separation and sorting technology and calculating ball loads in the mill.
Presenting quarterly progress technical reports to senior management.
Managing and maintaining daily, weekly and monthly reporting procedures for production, metal recovery, laboratory cost control and operating costs.
Managing and implementing cost savings on new and existing projects.
Running sampling campaigns for project purposes.
Performing the plant's and mineral processing mass balance campaigns and designing mineral processing flow diagrams.
Preparing process batch samples, interpret and report resulting data to project manager as well as equipment selection and sizing. This includes equipment like crushers, screens, conveyors, hydro cyclones, classifiers, thickeners, pumps, filter presses, and mineral jigs.
Metallurgical Accounting.
Minimum requirements for the role:
A relevant tertiary qualification in either Chemical Engineering or Extractive Metallurgy or related is essential.
Must have 5 years experience as a Plant Metallurgist on a mine with previous experience regarding crushing screening and milling, separation and sorting, and sulphide float and fatty acid flotation.
Must be flexible, mobile and prepared to travel both nationally and internationally.
Must be a self-starter, innovative and a team player who is able to deliver accurate results quickly.
Must be a fluent English and Afrikaans speaker/writer with the potential to lead a production team.
