Geotechnical Engineer

• The Portland, Oregon office is seeking an entry level Geotechnical Engineer to work as part of a team on civil, geotechnical and geological engineering projects. The successful candidate will be required to conduct field investigations including logging of geotechnical boreholes, provide field monitoring and testing for construction projects, perform engineering calculations for the design of foundations and earthen structures, and prepare reports. Assignments may include travel to remote locations worldwide and outside work in various climates.

Job Requirements:

• Candidates should have a BS in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, MS in Geotechnical Engineering (preferred). A minimum of 1-5 years of experience in the civil, geological, mining or environmental engineering field is required. Additional desirable skills include field logging and sampling, laboratory testing, or experience with slope stability, settlement, general civil design experience, construction experience, rock engineering and other geotechnical analyses. A willingness to perform a variety of assignments on short notice is valuable. Experience and proficiency with AutoCAD and an FE/EIT registration preferred. The candidate shall have excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with a positive attitude and ability to work both independently and within groups. Candidates must be willing to travel to projects within the US and internationally.
