They are world leaders in providing turnkey solutions to the transport industry from the inception of the project through design and execution phases of the project. They have successfully completed projects throughout Asia and Australia.


About the Role


As the Commercial Contracts Manager you will be required to be based in Brisbane with occasional business trips within Australia. Your duties are responsibilities are defined below:
  • Responsible for the overall coordination and management of contractual matters related to the contracts the Project.
  • Provide professional and timely commercial advice on current contracts
  •  Prepare any necessary project specific contract management procedures.
  • Provide interpretation and clarifications of the contractual documents
  • Contract claim management - Management of contract issues for the head contract the client and subcontracts with construction contractors and suppliers.
  •  Write and/or validate correspondence or other documents being sent to third parties if they are contract-related or bear contractual stakes.
  • Management of issues to be encountered include the review of correspondence and the preparation of responses, the review of tender and supplier's positions, the defense of claims from suppliers and contractors and the preparation of progress claim and other claim documentation.
  •  Collaborating with Legal Department and under the direction of the Project Director.
  • Protect, and where possible improve, the financial performance of the project.
  • You will assist and advise the Contract Director in regards to any contractual matters.

About You
  • A degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Law within the Project Management, EPCM, Mining and Resources sectors.
  • Strong understanding of AS2124, AS4000 series and other Australian forms of contracts and the common law system underpinning application of these contracts.
  • Formal Project Management (PMI or above) qualifications are an advantage.
  • At least 5 years experience in contract management roles including some experience in site construction management.
