Senior Project Manager/Environmental Consultant

Pollutech Environmental Limited has an immediate full-time employment opportunity in its Oakville, Ontario facility to join its professional consulting group. The highly successful candidate must be dedicated to exceptional customer service, with excellent written and oral communication expertise and have an ability to provide direct leadership within a project team both externally and within our consulting group professional staff. Successful candidate will be responsible for development of new clients and opportunities as well as completion of technical projects for existing clientele.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- 10 -15 years of environmental consulting experience
- Strong communication, written, verbal and leadership skills
- Strong technical knowledge and experience in several of the following technical areas:
- Thoroughly familiar with Ontario and Canadian environmental legislation and regulations (i.e., Environmental Protection Act, O. Reg. 347 - Waste, MISA Regulations, O. Reg. 419 - Air, O. Reg. 153/04 - Records of Site Condition, Ontario Water Resources Act, O. Reg. 903 - Wells)
- Completing Emission Summary and Dispersion Modelling (ESDM) Reports in accordance with the Ontario Ministry of Environment requirements;
- Conducting Acoustic Assessments and Acoustic Audits in accordance with the Ontario Ministry of Environment requirements;
- Preparing applications for Environmental Compliance Approvals (Air, Noise, Sewage Works) in accordance with the Ontario Ministry of Environment requirements;
- Conducting acoustical modelling of industrial facilities using SoundPLAN noise modeling software;
- Preparing NPRI (National Pollutant Release Inventory) and Toxic Reduction Act and Ontario Regulation 455/09 Assessments and Reports;
- Conducting Greenhouse Gas Emissions Assessments and Reports;
- Conducting Environmental Compliance Audits at industrial facilities;
- Conducting sampling programs relating to water, wastewater, soil, and groundwater;
- Conducting sampling programs relating to atmospheric emissions, including noise;
- Conducting Phase 1, 2, 3+ Environmental Site Assessments on industrial, commercial and residential properties
Position Duties
Technical
- Extensive Project Management in the organization and execution of environmental projects from project proposals, work and resource plans, project costing/budgeting, client liaison, time management, co-ordinating team, resources, and sub-contractors.
- Ability to coordinate a number of complex projects under pressure to meet schedule and budget commitments and responds to requests timely and efficiently.
- A thorough knowledge of and the ability to interpret environmental regulations, guidelines and standards and other relevant legislation, regulations, standards and codes of practice including health and safety regulations (e.g., Ontario Health and Safety Act).
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. You must be comfortable in the use of computational software.
- Pollutech offers 24 hour critical services to our clients you will be required to be available to work outside of the regular business hours including weekends and holidays when required.
Management/Teambuilding
- Assigns project work to staff, manages staff project work and conducts senior review of junior staff project work.
- Leads bi-weekly staff meetings to coordinate projects.
- Works efficiently and effectively within a team environment within and external to Pollutech yet is able to work confidently and independently on autonomous tasks
- Assumes personal responsibility and follows up to meet commitments to management, team members and clients.
- Client Focus & Customer Service.
- Maintains ongoing communication, follow up and delivery against client expectations.
- Anticipates and provides solutions to customer needs giving high priority to customer satisfaction.
- You will possess excellent people skills - working with internal stakeholders, team members, clients and regulatory agencies. Sound reasoning ability, good communication skills, high level of self-initiative, strong desire to acquire new knowledge and skills.
- As this role is for an experienced individual, there will be an expectation that you will be comfortable developing new business and strong relationships with clients, key stakeholders and vendors to enhance engagement and service levels.
