Senior Project Business Analyst
Job Description
- Under general supervision, performs complex project accounting activities, ensuring accuracy of project activities, and identifies opportunities for improvement. Analyzes and understands the activities performed with respect to accounting theory and company policy. Serves as the PBS lead for the project and is responsible for the following:
- Participating in the development of the Project Business Plan
- Review and analysis of project financial performance and assists project management in understanding and communicating financial issues and performance
- Timely and accurate completion of required reporting using Fluor and/or client systems.
- Reviews and issues client billings for labor and material.
- Provides oversight and direction for the project Payroll function and directly supervises the project Paymaster. Associated duties and responsibilities include:
- Knowledge of payroll procedures, polices and best practices
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use of automated payroll processes
- Provide service and support to field payrolls and all jobsites
- Manage and analyze payroll activities and ensures that all payroll records and reconciliations are managed in accordance with project/company policy
- Review, development and documentation of procedures and Sarbanes-Oxley controls for the payroll area
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use of PC-based business applications, including Microsoft Office applications, automated payroll applications and SAP.
- Regularly provides guidance and training to office and project employees as needed. Promotes and encourages teamwork with all parties and actively pursues collaborative problem resolution. Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication at all levels within the project and client organizations.
- Continually analyzes office resources and provides early identification and justification to manage additional resources as needed for outage support.
- Demonstrates strong discretion, independent judgment, evaluation capabilities and ability to meet strict deadlines. Other duties as assigned.
Basic Job Requirements
- Four-year accredited business / finance degree preferred, or equivalent business experience in an accounting/payroll environment
- Minimum of five years of related PBS/project experience
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills
- Self-starter who does not require direct instructions / supervision for completion of ongoing activities.
