IT Project Manager I

Summary:

• [Company] has an immediate opening for a Project Manager on the Project Management Office (PMO) Team within the Global Project Management and Administration department of the Business Service Center (Global IT) located in Pittsburgh, PA. The role of the Project Manager is to manage and/or participate in the major processes (lifecycle) of a project (initiate, plan, execute, control and close). Project Managers measure, analyze and manage the change in a project through its lifecycle. Project Managers use project variables, scope, resources, time, cost and quality to control project and set project expectations. Project Managers promote the use of repeatable processes to increase throughput and rapid deployment of projects

Major Responsibilities:

• Define project requirements with key business stakeholders
• Coordinate project activities for adherence to project plan and goals
• Monitor results against established timelines, deliverables, tasks, dependencies and associated technical specifications
• Develop detailed project plans, work breakdown structures, project checklists and budgets to meet established time frames, funding limitations and staffing availability
• Prepare comprehensive supporting plans in the areas of quality control, risk management, change management, testing and other associated project management areas
• Manage project development process to include monitoring project scope and change control processes
• Adhere to established policy and procedures with respect to project management methodology quality assurance and other related standards

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree required; majors preferred are Project Management, IT, Computer Science, or other computer related field.
• Minimum of 1 year experience serving on project teams, project leadership preferred
• PMP certification preferred
• Knowledgeable about project management processes
• Proficient with PCs and Office applications
• Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with management, end users and project team members
• Ability to interact effectively with technical personnel and with a wide variety of technical resources
• Knowledge and demonstrated ability to conduct detailed planning, and to perform risk assessments and their associated risk mitigation actions
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation skills
