Senior Mining Engineer (Underground)

Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years experience as a Mining Engineer or similar Hold a Degree or Diploma in Mine Engineering 3rd Class Certificate of Competency is advantageous Underground coal mine experience is a MUST!! Thorough understand of NSW Coal Mining Legislation Previous experience with mining software such as Vulcan, SAP, X-Pac, MS Office and Minescape will be highly regarded Ability to generate and maintain weekly reports Strong operational background with knowledge in planning, ventilation systems, design, Drill & Blast is favourable Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills

Duties

 Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining hazard management plans Supervision of contractors and suppliers to ensure OH&S legislation is understood and complied to at all times Delegate tasks, set objectives, targets and work standards to relay to your team Manage staff performance, productivity and provide feedback to ensure good moral and achievement of targets Ability to coach and mentor your team to perform to their full potential Short, medium & long term forecasting Assist in the preparation of mine production data, reconciliations and yearly budget reporting Possess a can-do attitude with a strong attention to detail You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to build positive working relationships with key stakeholders Participate in training exercises and inductions as required
