Water
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.
AECOM's Calgary office is currently looking to strengthen and expand their civil design capabilities and expertise in order to meet the current and anticipated growth in work load in the water and wastewater sectors; as well as the recent uptake in industrial and energy sector projects.
AECOM is looking for people in the civil design field, with current expertise in AutoCAD Civil3D (C3D) being critical. The range of projects include mechanical pipelines and concrete structures (in facility buildings), large scale earthworks projects including grading, surface drainage and general site preparation and servicing for mining and energy clients, large sub-regional water resource and irrigation projects and a diversity of urban projects (either for municipalities or land development projects).
The software proficiency required is, at a minimum, full capability in C3D 2011 and with a minimum of 2 years' experience using C3D as a design tool.
The ideal candidate(s) would have all the following C3D skills:
- Importing and manipulating survey and legal information to prepare base plans
- Changing data sets from UCS to Plant coordinate systems
- Changing data sets between different survey reference grids (i.e. 3TM, 10 TM, ground, NAD 83)
- Preparing grading plans
- Calculation of earth works quantities, mass haul drawings, earth works balances
- Underground piping design - water, sanitary, storm
- Roadway design
- Corridors
- Generating quantities
- Generating survey layout information for direct transfer to data collectors
- Training and mentoring other C3D users
