Entry-Level Mechanical Designer

Description and Desired Qualifications

• We are looking for an entry-level Mechanical Designer to join us and become an integral part of our on-site team with a Fortune 500 global leader in the consumer products industry. Working as part of an integrated team on the Client's premises in Pineville, LA, you will be responsible for providing high quality mechanical design solutions. You will oversee work packages for the design and layout of packaging and materials handling equipment, produce updates and adjustments to existing designs and create detailed mechanical drawings. Excellent communication and people skills are required as you will coordinate the design process between the various design disciplines within the engineering team. This entry-level Mechanical Design position will provide you with the opportunity to work on exciting projects that will challenge you and allow you to apply your talents, skills and experience.

Basic Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Mechanical Design or, alternatively, 12 months experience working in a similar position.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• A genuine interest in securing a career in mechanical machine design.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous design experience in the consumer products industry.
• 3-D modeling experience using either SolidWorks or SolidEdge.
• Previous experience working on-site within an integrated team environment or, alternatively, working closely with the Client in an alliance type situation.
