Project Manager / Engineer - Mining

• HDR Engineering, Inc is looking to identify a Project Manager/Engineer to lead multi-discipline mining and industrial projects in our Southwest Area (Arizona, Utah, Nevada, and New Mexico). The position offers projects with varying project sizes and degrees of technical complexity. In addition to project manager duties, this individual will be required to serve as project engineer in their area of practice and as a client manager/project manager. The successful candidate must utilize appropriate technical resources and multi-discipline staff to meet client and project needs. The position requires team coordination, project management, compilation of design and construction contract documents for various project delivery methods, and mining industry design standards and practices. Technical areas of expertise are variable and may include pumps, piping, process design, lined storage/containment, geotechnical, structural and/or other associated industrial infrastructure. Environmental permitting experience is also desired. Management duties will include coordinating workload of the staff through the entire project and ensuring that the work is completed within the project parameters. Experience with technical specifications, equipment layouts and design and overall coordination with other disciplines through construction will be required. Projects may be executed as design-bid-build, design-build, or EPC delivery methods. A portion of the job duties will also require business development for new and existing clients, scoping new work, and preparing proposals. This is a client driven business so solid interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain client relationships and helping to drive a program of industrial, private and mining related business in the local and regional market will be required. Some limited travel may be required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Structural, Geotechnical or Environmental Engineering. Master’s Degree Preferred
• PE licensure, 8+ years’ experience working on mining or industrial facility projects as a design engineer/project manager
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required
