Environmental Impact Assessment Senior Consultant
[Company] is seeking a talented Environmental Impact Assessment Senior Consultant for the Environmental Impact Assessment and Planning (IAP) practice for the Raleigh, NC office. The successful candidate will have previous consulting experience and established client relationships, to grow our business in the Power Sector. The ideal candidate will have established relationships with domestic transmission/power companies, along with technical expertise leading multi-media permitting and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) projects along the U.S. Gulf Coast and South Atlantic areas.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Senior Consultant for NEPA environmental assessment (EA) and environmental impact statement (EIS) projects and related activities in support of [Company] clients’ development projects (i.e., oil and gas, power generation, electrical transmission, and renewable energy projects).
- Contribute to preparing EAs/EISs and associated management plans in compliance with NEPA, serving in roles ranging from lead technical expert to quality review. Expected project delivery activities include report writing, undertaking and organizing data collection and survey field work, data and literature review, and development of recommendations for clients.
- Contribute to business development of [Company] IAP practice and Power sector, including identification of potential clients, development of client relationships, and preparation of successful proposals. Achieve personal sales contribution targets of $500k per year (net value).
- Capitalize on existing [Company] client relationships to expand [Company] profile and market share in the IAP power market (through a combination of excellence in technical delivery and business development). Work with other [Company] resources to deepen relationships with [Company] key clients and establish new client relationships that result in significant net revenue additions in the IAP space.
- Direct and monitor project management activities, including task delegation and direction, subcontractor management, health & safety protocol management, monitoring of commercial performance, deliverable quality review, and interaction with clients.
- Collaborate with other[Company] global practitioners to execute impact assessment projects. Participate on teams comprised of impact assessment professionals from multiple offices around the global [Company] organization.
- Mentor junior and mid-level consulting staff (including experienced impact assessment employees, as well as those with introductory levels of impact assessment experience) to develop their skill sets in the IAP practice area.
Requirements:
- BS in engineering/science; PE, CEP, AICP or similar registration highly desirable.
- 10+ years of impact assessment and multi-media permitting experience in the power/transmission sector.
- Established relationships with power/transmission companies with buying centers along the South Atlantic.
- Commitment to the development, safety, and careers of our employees.
- Well-developed teambuilding and influencing skills; unquestioned integrity; and the experience, confidence, and stature to effectively address client and business needs and challenges.
- Solid grasp of the key impact assessment and management issues within the Power sector, as well as a high degree of technical competence and broad knowledge of impact assessment best practices.
- Positive reputation with key regulators relevant to impact assessment approvals.
