About Our Client
This mid-tier owner operator with has an extensive portfolio of operational coal mines including both open cut and underground. This company also has interests in a number of coal exploration projects across New South Wales and Queensland. Due to the a recent growth this company an opening has been created for a Open Cut Mine Operations Manager to look after an Open Cut Operation in the Gunnedah region.
Job Description
The Open Cut Mine Operations Manager is responsible for managing budgets and achieving production and financial targets whilst ensuring a safe working environment that meets Australian standards and regulations. Reporting directly to the Regional Operations Manager, specifically you will be responsible for:
Demonstrating visible safety leadership in the workplace
Maintaining positive relations with the local community
Providing day to day management and leadership to the site team
Achieving cost effective operations to the mine site
Contribute to the development of a positive and collaborative organisational culture
The Successful Applicant
This post requires substantial knowledge of open cut mining of coal and demonstrable experience in leading a site team. It is essential to be safety orientated, a strong leader and have excellent communication skills. Tertiary qualifications in Mining or Civil Engineering would be highly regarded.
