Project Manager - Mining

This organisation is a well respected mining and civil contractor with a good presence across the Asia Pacific region. As part of a new contract win we are now recruiting a Project Manager to assume responsibility for the operational and commercial delivery of the project in regional South Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new project that will span a number of years working on an asset with potential to develop in to a major Australian base metals mine.
 
As Project Manager you will have responsibility for the delivery of the contract on-time and on budget whilst working closely with the client to foster a good relationship and manage the on-site technical and operations personnel thorough a team of competent mangers.  You will utlilise your experience to lead and monitor the ongoing operation managing potential issues and challenges. You will also be responsible for the administrative aspect of the project reporting weekly and monthly on to management and the client on matters relating to safety, cost control and budgets. 
 
The key requirements for this role are experience in a similar position with a mining contractor ideally in an underground metals environment. A degree in mine engineering would be highly regarded with good past exposure and direct experience with contracts administration. An advanced level of relationship building, administrative and leadership skills are all essential for this important appointment.
 
You will be rewarded with a challenging position that remunerates very competitively against the present market. The project is relatively new and is expected to run for a number of years offering longevity to all personnel and contractors employed. The staff roster is 8:6 with FIFO from all major centres on the Eastern Seaboard.
