Industrial Equipment, Executive Sales, Account Manager

Salary :  $150k / year.

An invitation to work for the Best Manager, 2012.

Your boss, your coach and mentor, manages a mid size industrial equipment branch. He doesn’t work hard, he works smart and conscientiously. He personally carries almost $2m in sales, and has a 20 year history in the business. Surrounded by a full sales team, inside CSRs, mechanics, service and parts people. This is the original school of how to earn like an executive while learning the sales craft as a profession.

I’ve known your boss, coach, for about six years now. He’s a passionate observer of human behavior, a full-time cheerleader for his troops, a problem solver for his clients, has an incredible depth of knowledge in this industry, is an amazing sales person who earns about as much as a United States senator and in his spare time raises his young family.

You? What matters.

I’m looking for someone willing to work for a great manager. If you’re senior and know your stuff you’ll be left alone. If you’re more junior, he’ll be your coach and mentor. If you want to build an executive sales career, just copy your boss because that’s what he’s doing. Client management is exactly that, managing client needs and helping them shape their future. You become part of your client’s business plan.

The product and the territory

Most of your clients are in the lower mainland of BC, local, you’ll be home every night. You’ll get to know truck dealers, manufacturers, oil and gas people, construction, resource, mining, forestry, wharves, terminals, good companies who add value to the economy. You’ll sell and learn about cranes, knuckle booms, loaders, material handling equipment, lift gates, service bodies, winches, compressor, snow plows and more. It’s exciting, ever changing and full of opportunity.

Depending on your own strengths, background and knowledge, your manager will find a place for you in this lineup. He’ll team up with you to make sure you’re successful. You might be in related industries. Maybe you’re currently representing power plants, industrial engines, forklifts, light tools, it doesn’t matter. We’ll make every effort to match your potential and capabilities with some part of our product and client base.

For the record, the money

  • Compensation package is $72,000 base salary plus commission. ($6,000 a month).
  • Your target income should be $110k. It can be $150k.
  • Exceptional benefits, all expenses, holidays, and more.
  • You might be mid career earning $100k and want to get to the next level.
  • You might be more junior, still learning this trade and not earning these numbers.
