Laboratory Supervisor – Cementing and Stimulation

Diversity Technologies Corp. is a privately owned distribution and manufacturing company providing chemical products to the Oil and Gas and Mining Industries. We are currently seeking a Laboratory Supervisor for the Cementing and Stimulation Division to join our successful team in downtown Calgary. This position will be responsible for managing the successful implementation of the strategic performance objectives of the Cementing and Stimulation division in the specific areas of product sourcing and development, product testing, customer service and safety.

We are looking for an individual with 5+ years of practical laboratory experience in a relevant field. Strong communication skills and highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to all levels within an organization are required for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain technical liaison role with Cementing and Stimulation Division clients.
• Actively source manufactured naturally derived or mineral products for potential use in the Canadian oil industry.
• Ongoing evaluations of sourced products under conditions of the Canadian environment.
• Conduct extensive product testing according to API specifications.
• Field customer inquiries on a wide variety of products and possible issues.
• Provide advice and suggestions for improving performance/results directly to clients.
• Quality control testing for blended and/or formulated products according to internally controlled test methods and standards.
• Responsible for overseeing laboratory testing at the Calgary and Edmonton laboratory providing supervision and support on Quality Control and Research and Development projects.
• Liaise with Warehouse personnel in the development and evaluation of standard procedures for the manufacture of products for resale purposes.
• Assemble Product Technical Data Sheets and announcement bulletins for products as required.
• Provide leadership and direction of day to day business activities, initiatives and operations to ensure products and services provided are delivered accordingly and in compliance with company needs, the management system and quality objectives.

Qualifications:

• B Sc or Chemical Technology Diploma or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years practical laboratory experience in relevant field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook etc…).
