Priority People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a local family owned and operated engineering business that is looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to join their team in the Newcastle Region.


Now in it's fourth generation of management they continue to provide manufacturing, fabrication and fitting services to businesses in the surrounding region. No job is too big or too small for this business with a combination of CNC and manual lathes they can machine parts from a few grams up to 8 tonne. 


Reporting to the General Manager, this hands on management role will see you responsible for overseeing all production in the workshop.


Your main accountabilities will include:

• Providing technical guidance and support to workshop staff
• Managing WHS requirements and risk assessment
• Managing KPI's for all production and staffing
• Reporting on all activity and opportunities for improvement
• Liaising with external customers and promoting positive work practices

Essential Criteria:

• Previous management experience in a machine / fabrication environment (min 2 years)
• Relevant trade background (Fitting Machining)
• Ability to read schematics / plans
• Strong leadership and development skills
• Solid communication skills - written and verbal
