Principal Planner

The City of Bayside is an attractive and affluent area adjoining Port Phillip Bay.  Residents of Bayside enjoy extensive parklands, shopping strips with low scale and unique character and of course kilometres of foreshore and sandy beaches.  The Council offices are located in Sandringham, only 700 metres walk to the nearest beach. Hays are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Principal Planner to join Bayside’s statutory planning team and contribute positively to the planning and management of Bayside’s future built environment. 

The Principal Statutory Planner is an important position for our client.  Key responsibilities of this Band 7 appointment include handling larger or more complex applications, leading improvements to processes and systems and providing mentoring and advice to less experienced staff.  The position will suit an experienced statutory planner who is looking to advance their career toward a supervisory role by further developing skills in leadership and management of planning projects. 

A natural leader, you will be engaged by council to provide a high level of guidance and mentorship to the existing team. You will sharpen your skills in public consultation and be an exceptional communicator with the ability to provide expert advice with reference to statutory planning across all relevant departments within City Strategy.
