Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Underground
$200,000 (pa) Package
Perth

Fantastic opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer to join a world class underground operation in WA.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to: -

  • Generate design and ground support standards including a Ground Support Management Plan
  • Inspecting all underground areas to assess geotechnical conditions
  • Manage and monitor data from rock structural analysis to provide analytical assessment of ground structure to facilitate effective stope design
  • Develop strategies for geotechnical risk minimisation to ensure stability of openings
  • Review and implement changes in Ground Control Plans
  • Numerical modelling assessments of all mine designs
  • Manage and promote the professional development of your team of Geotechs.

To be successful, you will need: -

  • Degree/MSc in Rock Mechanics, or alternatively a degree in Geology or Mining Engineering with post-grad qualifications geared towards Rock Mechanics
  • 3-5 years experience as a geotechnical engineer with underground hard rock
  • Investigation and design of development walls
  • Solid 3D modelling experience
