Flotation Metallurgist

Minimum Requirements

• Education Diploma or degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering.
• Experience Minimum 2 years experience in relevant discipline (ie. FLOTATION Metallurgy).

Job Specification

Main Purpose Of The Job

• Manage the analysis/test work and oversee daily operations in the relevant division.

Responsibilities

• Design and costing of metallurgical testwork programmes in liaison with client.
• Management, execution and control of metallurgical testwork (bench and pilot) to ensure timely, accurate and cost effective completion.
• Report writing , data control/processing and reporting of testwork according to company guidelines with minimal input from the Line Manager
• Evaluation of results and interpretation
• Management, training and direction of subordinate in quality, testwork methodology, safety and time management and enhance productivity.
• Apply accepted validation techniques to ensure confidence in test results.
• Assist in development and validation of methods.
• Sample handling, i.e., weighing and logging, splitting and blending, filtering
• Responsible for Health and Safety within Section.
• Responsible for effective and appropriate use of equipment, facilities and good housekeeping.
• Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the company management system.
• Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager.
